- define and describe Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Hypertext Transfer
Protocol (HTTP)
- discuss HTML standards
- recognize HTML tags
- describe the installation process for FrontPage including the components
it installs
- use FrontPage to format HTML text and documents
- import files into a HTML document
- preview pages in a browser
- insert images
- align text with images and edit the image properties
- create text and image links to other pages in a Web and places within a
page (bookmark)
- create an image map
- insert tables into a HTML document and “nest” a table within another table
- change table and cell properties, such as background color, borders, etc.
- use tables for organization of information and page layout
Course Overview
Designing Web Pages with FrontPage 2000, Part 1 is a full-day hands-on class
designed to teach students how to create Web pages using FrontPage 2000. Students
will learn about HTML and how to create Web pages using HTML tags. They will
then learn how to create Web pages in the WYSIWYG environment of FrontPage 2000.
Students will use FrontPage to create an entire Web. Along the way, they will
learn how to change the appearance of text by adding bold, italics, colors,
font faces, heading styles and many more text editing features. They will also
learn how to change the appearance of whole documents, such as adding background
colors and images. Students will examine a variety of techniques for inserting
and editing images. They will learn how to create hypertext links, links from
images and image maps. Finally, students will insert tables and edit their appearance.
Who Should Attend This Course
This course is designed for those who have only a basic knowledge of Web page
creation and want to create professional-looking Web sites.
Prerequisites
Prior experience with a graphical user interface such as Macintosh or Windows
is required as is experience with a Macintosh or Windows-based word processing
program, such as Microsoft Word. General knowledge of the Internet is helpful.
